This website is dedicated to our school logbook, which covers the period August 1904 to September 1961.
The logbook describes everyday life at Holystone – cold buildings, frozen toilets, hygiene, outbreaks of measles, truanting, staff illnesses. However, more important and exciting events such as the King and Queen’s visit to Tyneside, air raids, Victory Day celebrations are also recorded, as well as the sad deaths of former pupils in local collieries.
The logbook is presented to you as a page flip presentation. If you don’t want to flip through the logbook, we’ve chosen some interesting pages for you to have a look at.
